**Location**: Dunston, Staffordshire, UK - Hybrid (1 - 2 days per week in the office)

**40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm**

Due to a internal promotion, we are looking for a Ledger Clerk or Accounts Assistant to join our friendly, tight knit team in Dunston. This will be a varied role spanning sales ledger, purchase Ledger, contract administration, banking and reconciliation duties and some weekly and monthly reporting.
- This will be a great opportunity for someone who is looking to further their career in finance, this would suit someone with some finance or ledger experience looking to start or continue studying their AAT qualifications with excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills and thinking on their feet. As part of this role you will need to build trust and relationships across the business and team, liaising with senior consultants and managers.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Setting up new clients & suppliers
- Producing invoices
- Posting purchase invoices and payments
- Posting payments and remittances
- Reconciling supplier statements and following up on queries
- Banking Duties
- Running off customer statements
- Liaising with other departments and suppliers to resolve queries and disputes.
- Reporting/analysing data as required
- General Administration when required

**To be successful in this role some of the things we are looking for**:

- Previous finance experience in Purchase and/or Sales Ledger clerk or as a Accounts Assistant
- Studying an AAT qualification would be beneficial but not an essential requirement
- Computer literate with a basic to intermediate knowledge of excel
- Previous experience of accounting software i.e. Opera, Sage Line 50 or similar
- Flexibility to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise and build relationships with colleagues, peers and customers internally and externally
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce work to high levels of accuracy
- A team player who can support the team and wider business, using initiative to problem solve when needed

**Location**

Dunston, Staffs. Hybrid working arrangement with usually 1 - 2 days per week spent in the office after initial training when you would need to be in the office more often. Flexibility required and provided, the office is in quite a rural location so you need to be a driver with your own vehicle.
