Substance Misuse Recovery Coordinator

Burton Addiction and O’Connor Centre is an award winning organisation which offers support to individuals with drug and alcohol problems. We work in partnership with We are With You and North Staffs Combined Healthcare Trust to form the Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol Services (CDAS).
This role provides support to service users that meets their needs through their individual recovery journey and to their families and carers. In order to be successful you will use your ability to motivate, challenge and empower individuals to achieve meaningful, sustainable recovery goals.

The successful applicant will:
- Provide specialist recovery coordination and case management to individuals accessing Stoke-on-Trent Community Drug and Alcohol Service (SCDAS)
- Co-ordinate individuals’ care across multiple systems including clinical treatment and wider health and social care
- Take a lead care co-ordination role in a multiple disciplinary approach of clients with multiple/complex needs
- Provide intensive support to high risk clients who are currently not engaged and/or are engaging inconsistently with services
- Ensure customers are safeguarded
- Provide a range of creative, innovative and evidence-based psychosocial and other therapeutic interventions within both one-to-one and group settings achieving sustainable recovery and community re-integration
- Understand an individual’s barriers to engagement and reasons behind presenting behaviours
- Work within a strengths-based, recovery-orientated, change and outcomes focused approach, which promotes service users and communities as responsible co-producers of health, well-being and recovery.
