Speech & Language Therapist - Academy Specialist Resource Provision - Psychology Graduates Wanted - Aspiring Clinical Psychologists

This outstanding Academy school in Swindon are offering a fantastic opportunity for a psychology graduate with a passion for providing restorative practices to students with complex needs to join their team. The successful applicant will work as a Speech & Language Therapist, providing 1:1 support and working in small groups to provide the highest quality of care for those students who need it most.

In this role, you will work with students with physical disabilities, hearing or visual impaired students, and those who need additional support to understand and complete tasks. This will be a great opportunity to gain valuable experience working with a diverse range of conditions and disorders for those seeking to become social workers or clinical psychologists.

You will get to work alongside work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. The built for purpose site will provide a first class environment where you will use holistic and restorative techniques to ensure the wellbeing of students with complex needs, whilst still instilling the value of education.

The role:

- Speech & Language Therapist.
- EYFS, Primary aged students who all have EHCPs with Autism and Aspergers, OCD, verbal and non-verbal children
- Holistic and restorative therapies introduced, where even a little progress is a win.
- Emphasis on Early Years and Non-Verbal students, restorative and holistic methods used to gain engagement
- Secondary students with learning levels significantly lower than their age.
- Previous experience is of great use working with young people is desirable, if you have siblings and younger family members.
- Giving the students objectives and as much independence as is possible, especially if the students are in assisted living.
- OT, Speech and Languages deployed in school.
- ABA and CBT Therapies employed, you will be trained in ABA disciplines and method
- 1:1 and small group work with an emphasis on key, personal and functional skills
