**Job Purpose**
The role holder will provide coordination and support for the development and delivery of a strategically determined and theme-led cultural activities and public engagement programme across the College and its constituent Schools. The role will work as part of a wider team delivering on a range of strategic priorities, for example, the student experience, student community, graduate employability, research and alumni engagement.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Collaborating with key colleagues with cognate roles within the team, and more widely across College you will support the development, delivery and promotion of a strategically-focussed programme of events.
2. Working with key academic colleagues within the Schools, with the Student Representatives Council and other relevant stakeholders to design, support and deliver a suite of community-building events by and for the undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research student cohorts.
3. Working collaboratively to support graduate employability through engaging and developing students’ contribution to events organisation.
4. Collaborating with the College of Arts Communications Team in the development and strategic promotion of events.
5. Advising on ways to increase and sustain external engagement and knowledge exchange activity and effectiveness, focusing on underserved groups and communities.
6. Working alongside other team members to support potential flagship events or programmes within or relevant to the College of Arts.
7. Developing and maintaining an active awareness of policies and innovations in the cultural events sector, to support the development of a College-wide cultural programme, drawing on best practice and toolkits in event planning including the latest developments in audience engagement, accessibility and sustainability.
8. Maintainig a shared monitoring and evaluation framework for event audiences, participants and hosts, to inform and improve future planning.
9. Contributing to and representing the College and Schools as required on relevant internal and external committees, groups and forums; and liaising with cognate role-holders to foster the development of a community of practice across the University.
10.Clerking and managing relevant internal committees, groups and forums, and following up, as appropriate, on agreed actions and outcomes.
11. As required, providing day-to-day line management or supervision duties for role holders within a team of students or others engaged in the organisation and delivery of events.
12. Any other duties commensurate with the grade and can be reasonably expected, and are relevant to wider College and/or School strategic developments.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role

**Skills**

**Essential**
C1 Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at different levels within the University and external organisations
C2 Proven analytical and problem solving capability
C3 Ability to prioritise competing demands from a variety of stakeholders, and to adhere to strict timescales.
C4 An excellent working knowledge of all standard Microsoft packages
C5 High level of oral and written communication including presentation and influencing skills, demonstrating clarity and focus and the ability to influence, guide and challenge
C6 Ability to work effectively both independently or as part of a team
C7 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post

**Desirable**
D1 Effective project management skills
D2 T4 or other web content management skills

**Experience**

**Essential**
E1 Relevant and broad experience of the organisation, administration and delivery of events
E2 Experience of working with students, student groups or organisations in a relevant capacity
E3 Experience of successfully forming networks, collaborations and professional relationships
E4 Experience of managing or supervising staff

**Desirable**
F1 Project management experience
F2 Experience of working within a Higher Education environment

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 6, £31,502 - £35,308 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended.
