Her at Serco we are looking for Domestic Assistants to join our growing team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, site has 860 beds and covers a single site of approximately 95,000 square metres..

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring patient satisfaction in the hospital. Component parts of the role will include the delivery of cleaning, catering and housekeeping services to an agreed schedule within clinical areas and departments to ensure a safe patient environment. This role is well suited to someone who is flexible and is passionate about undertaking cleaning duties in a safe manner, meeting the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Specification standards, the National Infection and Prevention Control Manual and Food in Hospitals - National Catering and Nutrition Specification for Food and Fluid Provision in Hospitals in Scotland.

This is a critical role where you will play an important part of patient recovery. As well as maintaining the cleanliness standards whilst following all safe working practices and COSHH guidance you will also be expected to:

- Assist and liaise with Team Leaders
- Ensure the safe use of any cleaning substances, i.e. Actichlor, following the manufacturer’s guidance.
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Actively make decisions and judgements recording when an area can be cleaned, taking into consideration clinical restrictions including for example, medical ward rounds, physiotherapy and occupational therapy assessments and condition of patients ensuring the dignity of patients is maintained at all times.
- Work to tight schedules either for example within wards to manage and meet the protected meal times or to accommodate the longer and more flexible visiting hours and in departments to be work flexibly around the extend clinic times.

**What you’ll need to do the role**

Although no formal experience is required it would be advantageous if you have worked in a similar environment as a hospital setting. You must have a high level of customer service and be comfortable in a busy fast paced department. You must be fully flexible and available to work weekends. This is a demanding physical role which requires you to be on your feet for most of the day.
