**The Role**

The L&D Training Officer role offers a unique opportunity to be part of our training & learning strategy and have an impact on commercial archaeology in the UK. You will ideally have proven experience in commercial archaeology, and you are confident to build relationships on all levels across the company.

The post will involve being part of a small team planning and delivering training throughout the company. The Training Officer will support the Learning and Development Team in coordinating training and delivering to teams. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced heritage professional with previous teaching/training experience.

**You must have the following essential criteria**
- Proven experience of British commercial archaeology and experience of supervising archaeological teams working on large infrastructure projects and small sites
- Previous experience in a training people, passionate about learning and development of our employees
- Comfortable and proficient in public speaking
- Experience of UK archaeological field experience
- Experience of working on large infrastructure projects and small sites
- Self-motivated and organised
- Have a coaching mentality
- A self-starter and solution orientated
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel regularly, undertake periods of away working, often at short notice
- A full UK driving license
- Passionate about learning and development of our employees
- Comfortable and proficient in public speaking
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite
- Professional membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) and/or other appropriate professional body (ie CIPD) is desirable
- Degree level education is desirable

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver our training module training to employees on-site or off-site
- Maintenance of training records and administration of training bookings
- Support the Senior Training Officer in the maintenance and creation (or co-ordination) of training modules
- Conduct training needs analysis
- Delivery and/or co-ordination of presentations, talks and workshops
- Undertake feedback and assessment of project training requirements
- Help to develop and coordinate graduate/apprentice and or traineeship initiatives
- Help with co-ordination of trainee positions
- Conduct skills development audit and provide reports
- Provide ad-hoc support to the wider L&D team to include wellbeing
