School Nursing Assistant

Carry out duties as directed by the SN’s to enable them to make the most effective and efficient use of clinical time.
- Organise group activities, teaching sessions and immunisation sessions in schools to enable the teams to deliver the Health Child Programme 5-16
- Undertaking the growth monitoring of children within schools and record and report results to school nurse in accordance with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S).
- Undertake hearing screening and record and report results to school nurse in accordance with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S)

- Undertake meeting and greeting of children and families at clinics, clinical sessions, teaching sessions and groups, completing associated documentation as directed in
- Set up clinical activities in clinics, schools etc. including bringing appropriate equipment for audiology screening, weighing and measuring of children and may also involve the collection and delivery of vaccines etc.
- Assist teams with clerical duties to support screening, developmental assessments, immunisation sessions and post vaccination and complete appropriate documentation as directed following relevant SOPs.
- Provide support to SNs at clinical activities e.g. reassurance and monitor pupils post vaccination.
- Contribute to an evidence based service in all localities by adhering to SOPs and pathways
