**Location**: Coventry Central - Onsite
**Pay**: £16.00 Per Hour
**Duration**: 12 Month Assignment
**Start Date**: ASAP

**About the role**:

- To ensure the effective and efficient operation of our water network. This includes proactively monitoring for emerging risks, risk assessing planned and reactive R&M activity on our asset base.
- To be the lead in our operational response to service and asset failures ensuring robust plans are established and delivered to maintain our ODI commitments to our customers. This includes a key role in STW’s incident & Event framework.
- To co-ordinate planned activity in real time on our network to ensure no conflicts occur.
- Create a learning culture from near misses, incidents & events ensuring that key points are captured & future risks mitigated.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- To assess, & control the impact of emergency & planned work on our Water Supply & Distribution System to ensure our customers receive a continuous supply of wholesome water.
- Ensure the effective mitigation of risks, through accurate analysis of data, problem diagnostics, clear decision making & excellent communication of resolution actions & ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.
- Working a 1 in 5 shift pattern to ensure compliance with all our Water Regulatory & Company Targets 365 days a year.
- Liaison with our field engineering staff to ensure the effective deployment of the correct resource to most efficiently resolve the problems with Job build (burst mains, new installations & maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Review flow and pressure data to identify possible asset failures.
- Accountability for actions/decisions made within skill level.
- Ensure Network Control Manager is kept informed of all ongoing events & advise on any likely to lead to escalation based on our internal & regulatory trigger levels
- Compliance with Company Health & Safely Policies.
- Liaison and Consultation with other STW departments & External agencies such as the Environment Agency, Police, Fire Service & Local Councils.
- Ensure all work is carried out efficiently, to the highest quality standards & in line with departmental targets

**Experience**:
**Essential**
- Experience of proactively identifying problems and implementation of solutions.
- Experience of proactively identifying problems and drive/implementing solutions in a busy environment
- Knowledge of risk assessment, mitigation & contingency planning.
- Experience of delivery of excellent customer service
- Confident with and experience of using multiple IT systems to identify problems and co-ordinate data cohesively

**Desirable**
- Experience of operating asset systems e.g.; Water Distribution, Water Production
- Water Industry Experience
- A strong ability to influence and communicate to others at all levels in a sensitive, successful and collaborative manner to get the desired outcome
- Capability to deliver solutions and actions through motivating and coaching colleagues in a knowledge sharing environment
- Excellent communication skills combined with experience of making a considered approach when facing pressure and experience of making key decisions with limited information
- The ability to work under pressure with several ongoing issues/events, processing complex information.
- The ability to ensure the diagnosing and solving of problems to give a right first time solution is taking place effectively at all times and managing all stakeholders effectively
- The ability to understand and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate to both the team and stakeholders building and developing professional relationships
- Excellent team working skills
- The confidence to deal with challenging situations and confidence to escalate problems where needed
- The capability to learn and use complex technical information / documents
- Prioritisation of reactive tasks in a time pressurised environment
- Clear, Calm & logical thinking while working under pressure.

**Qualifications**:
**Preferred**
- Maths and English Level C GCSE or Equivalent essential
- Preferably educated to A Level (or equivalent) Standard

**Desirable**
- Knowledge & qualifications relating to plumbing techniques & Hydraulics, would be desirable.
