**About Medway Change Makers**

Medway Change Makers is a Volunteering Cities project delivered in partnership by Ideas Test, Medway Voluntary Action, Medway Place Board and Creative Medway, funded by Spirit of 2012. The project seeks to break down barriers to creative volunteering in Medway, making it a more accessible activity for all. Volunteers join the volunteer pool, gaining access to ‘event based’ (short term) volunteering opportunities at creative and cultural host organisations and events across Medway.

**The Role**

Due to the success of the programme over the past year, we are excited to be expanding the project team with the creation of the roles of Project Assistant. The Project Assistant will support the Volunteering Project Manager in the day to day delivery of the Medway Change Makers volunteering project. The post holder will contribute to the administration and coordination of the project, with the general objective of enabling volunteers to access volunteering activity.

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**:
Working with the Volunteering Project Manager, you will:

- Support delivery of the Medway Change Makers programme, seeking to meet programme objectives and requirements set by the funding body.
- Undertake administrative tasks in relation to project need, such as: organising postage of volunteer uniform; drafting communications to volunteers; maintenance of the volunteer databases; proofreading etc.
- Create social media posts promoting new volunteer roles using existing templates on Canva
- Communicate directly with volunteers regarding upcoming or past opportunities, answering basic queries.
- Coordinate a training programme for volunteers, with support from the project manager.
- By additional arrangement, attend Ideas Test and wider community events to represent the programme and/or support volunteers.
- Other tasks commensurate with the role as specified by the Volunteering Project Manager.

**Person Specification**:
Essential:

- Strong administrative skills, including good computer literacy
- Experience of project administration, including using spreadsheets, databases and drafting public-facing communications
- A high level of accuracy in written communication, including good proofreading ability
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively

Desirable but not essential:

- Experience using Facebook for Business/Meta Business Suite, and paid social media advertising
- Experience with Google Suite, design tools (such as Canva), and database management, or willingness to learn.
- Interest or experience in visual arts, music, theatre, or community arts. Awareness of cultural organisations and activities in Medway.
- Volunteering experience in the cultural sector
- **Contract period**:_ This role is a fixed term contract until the end of February 2025.
- **Salary**:_£25,000 FTE, Pro rata for 2 days per week
- **Holidays**:_25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays pro rata
- **Employer**:_The Project Assistant will be employed by Ideas Test.
