**£12.00 starting pay, reviewed after first 3 months.**

**Yard Operative - Scrap Metal Recycling Demonstration Facility**

**Description of the role**:
JMC Recycling Systems is the UK's largest manufacturer of metal recycling equipment, dating back to 1872. We are looking for a Yard Operative to join our team.

The successful applicant will primarily run our cable granulation system, as well as helping with normal day to day tasks in our machinery demonstration scrap yard.

**Day to day tasks would include**:

- Sorting scrap metal into different areas of the yard.
- Helping customers by grading their scrap, and weighing it using the weighbridge.
- Loading and unloading lorries for scrap deliveries.
- Processing scrap using machinery such as shears and balers.

There is opportunity for progression into supervisor roles based on performance.

**Hours and Pay**:
Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm. Saturday mornings are optional.

The starting pay is £12.00 per hour. Overtime is available between 7:00am-8:00am, and on Saturday Mornings, paid at 1.5x wage.

**The successful applicants will have**:

- Experience working in Scrapyards or similar.
- Knowledge of Non-Ferrous metals.
- Numeracy and literacy ability.
- Experience driving forklifts.
- Experience in the metal recycling industry is a bonus.
- Experience running a granulator / baler / alligator shears is a bonus.
- Experience in weighbridge operation is a bonus.
- Slinging Qualifications are a bonus.
- Wamitab Qualification or equivalent is a bonus.
