**Overview**:
Buckinghamshire Council is a brand new unitary council with ambitions to be the best in the country. We are seeking an experienced CCTV control room supervisor to join our team currently based in High Wycombe.

The team work in partnership with Thames Valley Police and other partner agencies, operating 365 days a year.

As a CCTV control room Supervisor, you will be managing a small team of operators to help ensure the security and the safety of the general public and help prevent and detect crime and disorder.

The role involves working rotating shifts and working late on occasions.

The advertised salary attracts an additional 10% enhancement due to shift work. You will receive 25 days annual leave (plus public holidays) rising to 30 days after 5 years service.

**About the role**:

- Manage team of operators
- completing and organising shift rota, managing leave, absences and performance reviews.
- Ensure health and safety of staff and visitors to control room.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partner agencies.
- Respond to CCTV requests and queries from a variety of sources (Police, Council departments, Housing, Data Protection).
- Identify and investigate any faults and arrange service or repair.
- Understand and operate all CCTV Centre systems in accordance with the Council's Code of Practice and CCTV Procedure Manual, and provide a pro-active and reactive monitoring service, to assist in the detection and reduction of crime.

Fixed:
As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.

**About you**:
As a CCTV Control Room Supervisor you will have knowledge and experience of managing a town centre CCTV control room or similar.

You will have previous experience of managing a team of operators or similar staff and completing shift rotas and dealing with absence and performance.

Technical knowledge of CCTV systems, transmission and data storage and knowledge of legislation relevant to crime and disorder reduction and public place CCTV is also a requirement.

You will have to use your own judgements and be able to make decisions on your own as well as deal with all aspects of emergencies. Report writing and presenting data on performance is also an essential part of this role.

**The type of people we’re looking for**
- Minimum of 12 months previous experience in a CCTV Control Room
- Customer service or care background preferable
- Good basic PC/IT skills, especially data entry
- Good communication skills at all levels (written and on the phone/radio)
- Good general standard of education - minimum level 5.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice and partnership working.
