**Job Title: Procurement Assistant**

**Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital**

**Hours: full time, 37,5 hours per week**

**Length of placement: up to 3 months**

**Trust Location: London Road, Reading RG1 5AN**

**What you’ll be responsible for**:
Assisting in identifying suitable sources and conducting dealings with external suppliers.

Supporting the Trust's users in their sourcing and purchasing requirements.

Maintain and update all key purchasing, contractual, and catalogue information to enable the purchasing function to operate effectively.

Researching and identifying suppliers and dealing with them in procurement of goods and services under the guidance of the Procurement Managers.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:
Procurement and / or finance background is desirable, however not essential.

Excellent communications skills, as you will be required to work with the Trust's stores, accounts payable and users.

Great IT skills, especially use of Excel, Word and Teams.
- This role may require you to show evidence of education at degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience. _
