Activity Support Worker

Speaking Up Speaking Out (SUSO) have an exciting opportunity available for an Activity Support Worker to initiate, plan and provide enjoyable and stimulating group activities based on the needs, interests, and preferences of our members.
You will facilitate social inclusion, community links and promote physical and mental wellbeing, confidence, and independence.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, kind, and caring person who is motivated, hardworking, and keen to join our friendly team. You will demonstrate key values that are essential for a role of this nature such as warmth, compassion, and kindness along with the ability to work flexibly.
Experience of working with people with a learning disability/Autism **is essential**
Mental health, physical disabilities experience would be an advantage.
**Maternity Cover**
20 hours per week
£12.00 per hour

**Main Tasks**:
To facilitate social inclusion and community links, to promote physical and mental wellbeing, confidence, and independence to SUSO members.
To initiate, plan and provide sessions for members on an individual or group basis.
To enable members to enjoy and participate actively in the session to achieve their identified outcomes.
To have experience in social media.
To develop warm and trusting relationships with clients and to promote their confidence and self-esteem.
To promote equality, diversity and inclusion for all members
To ensure that vulnerable adults are safeguarded from harm.
To comply with SUSO’s safeguarding policy and procedures and report any concerns with immediate effect to the Senior member of staff.
To take appropriate action in the event of emergencies.
To follow SUSO’s Health and Safety policy and procedures and report any concerns in relation to Health and Safety Issues.
To maintain records of attendance and the progress of individuals and all other administrative duties relevant to the role.
To accept regular support and supervision from your Line Manager.
To comply with SUSO’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
Demonstrate flexibility and work outside of core hours when required.
Adhere to SUSO’s policy and procedures.
Maintain stock levels, i.e. tuck shop and stationary.
**Any other duties as required.**
**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 9 months
Pay: £11.64-£12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
