**About Us**:
**Role Overview**:
Depaul House in Whitley Bay provides holistic support to vulnerable young people aged 16-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service provides a safe and secure environment for young people to develop their skills in preparation for independent living, at a stage which is right for them.

It supports young people with very high/high to medium support needs. All young people work alongside our staff to devise a bespoke plan to meet their support needs including access to training, employment, education and voluntary opportunities.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in working with us as **Young People Support Worker**. This exciting job will avail you the opportunity to manage a caseload of clients, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs; supporting them to progress towards independence.

You will work in a rolling 5 week rota to ensure that young people have full staff support during their most difficult times.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable,
- Lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service.
- Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within their accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.
- Proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the well being of Depaul clients in accordance with data protection and information
- sharing protocols.

Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a part-time (30 hours a week), permanent role.

**What We Are Looking For - Person Specification**:

- Experience of working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness.
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse
- A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
- Able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
