Trainee Shotfirer

**Description**:
We are currently hiring a Trainee Shotfirer, to join our team at Cloud Hill Quarry, Derby. This role will report into the Quarry Manager.

This role is suitable for someone who has a particular interest and willingness to learn shotfiring, with full training provided on the theory and practical side. This role is based full time on site, and will consist of computer based work and manual labour.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Learn how to set out a blast, carrying out face profiling, marking shots
- Designing blast specification
- Safe transfer and storage of explosives
- Charging and firing of production shots and liaising with the driller

**Skills, Knowledge & Expertise**:

- Full training will be provided
- Willingness to work towards their NVQ Level 3 in Shot firing, MPQC shot firing/ explosives supervision card.
- No previous experience is required, but would be preferable.
