12hr shifts on a 4 on 4 off rota of days and nights.

**Purpose**

The Security Guard will report directly to the Security Supervisor under the direction of the Head of Security and be able to assist with all day-to-day aspects of or security functions, ensuring the security and safety of our site, vessels, and assets.

Based in a gatehouse environment as a first point of contact, where use of company internal computer systems, and IT literacy is essential. Your responsibilities would also include but not limited to front of house activities, regular external vehicle and foot patrols, Access, and Egress duties, Stop, search and spot check activities when required. Checking your shift rotas and patterns fully aware of any changes in procedures or security risks, yard wide and in both gate houses.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure that the Companies obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded for future reference.
- Liaise with Security Team ensuring that all information is made available in order for the operation of the Company to work in an effective manner.
- Ensure that staff and clients of the Company assist the Health & Safety Officer to ensure compliance with policies and regulations adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
- Participate in and ensure the continuation of specialist training to other members of the security team within the remit of your authority.
- To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.

7. To effectively control the access to the Company premises, ensuring all personnel and vehicles entering site have the correct up to date documentation or passes to gain access, where necessary ascertaining the authenticity and authority to hold such documents or passes.

8. Where provided, to ensure monitoring functions of CCTV and alarm systems are maintained. To be aware of the operation of those functions and to respond as required.
- When required to assist and escort visitors to their destinations within the yard.
- To submit detailed reports on discovery of issues relating to health and safety and crime to the relevant authority either verbally or in report form as required.
- In line with Company policy, carry out routine search procedures in sensitive manner to include vehicles, buildings and persons.
- To effectively deal with all incidents falling within the security remit and to effectively report all incidents to the relevant authority.
- To provide a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
- To maintain a log of all visitors, incidents and any other records that may be required by the client.
- To maintain the Company key safe to issue and record all movements of keys within the premises.
- To identify suspicious persons and actions and report such circumstances.

17. Ensure that all relevant information is read and understood and that they are fully aware of any new changes regarding the security function within the workplace.

18. Participate and support Security Drills and Exercises arranged both inhouse and by external authorities.

19. Any other duties deemed acceptable by Line Manager.

- SIA Licence - E
- Full Security Clearance (be able to pass) - E
