We are recruiting for a global company who are seeking a qualified or part qualified accountant to join their UK Head Office. This is an office based position, and the working hours are 08:00am - 16:00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

This position is responsible for product costings and manufacturing financial data analysis for the Business Unit. The position works closely with the Commercial, Marketing, Technical, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supply Chain teams, and provides data andanalysis to enable sound decision making and help drive sales and production efficiencies.

The position is also expected to contribute to the presence of a comprehensive and appropriate system of internal financial controls that safeguard the business and its assets.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide day to day product costings for items manufactured by the UK and Belgium sites.
- Review and analysis of production standard costs, including raw materials and labour/overhead rates, ensuring these are relevant, accurate and up to date in system.
- Analysis of data to support the margin improvement program.
- Produce transfer pricing and analysis.
- Assist with the month end reporting process for the UK and Belgium sites. Including ensuring actuals are accurately reported, forecasts are completed, month end performance verses budget and prior year are reported on time.
- Inventory, inventory provision, variances (PPV, yield, absorption and standard cost changes) and fixed assets are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Analysis of current Inventory to ensure this is effectively managed.
- Assist with Capital Acquisition Request analysis (EH&S, normal replacement and investment opportunity projects).
- Key player in planned JDE Implementation in UK.
- Contribute to the inventory control procedures and attendance at annual inventory counts.
- Contribute to improvements in internal financial controls that comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements or other relevant guidance.
- Audits - Work with the Supply Chain Controller to deal with Internal and External Audit requirements.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**:

- Educated to degree level and with GCSE Maths & English grade C or above.
- Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable.
- Experience working in finance within a manufacturing environment is required, demonstrating a strong understanding of finance and manufacturing business, including ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral are necessary.
- Advanced Excel skills are required and experience of using AS400 system and/or JD Edwards is desirable.
- Other ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by Supply Chain Controller, including cover for other roles within the department as required.

A thorough understanding of manufacturing and costing is essential in this role, the position requires the ability to analyse data and an eye for detail. A demanding role which is the focal point for cost/manufacturing financial data analysis for the businessunit; the position requires the ability to manage competing demands and prioritise work accordingly. Requires daily communication with personnel across all departments within the business so the ability to communicate clearly, particularly with non-financialpeople, is essential. This position will be expected to work independently and manage their workload to achieve tight deadlines.
