In line with our ambitious growth plans and commitment to recruiting potential future leaders for our business we are recruiting a Apprentice Transport Planner to join our Peterborough Highways contract.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To develop and maintain a good understanding of national and local policy on transport and development management.
- To develop and maintain a good understanding of the transport networks, facilities, and characteristics of the area.
- To develop the skills to provide advice on the transport impacts of proposed development, and developments’ compliance with transport policy, to senior members of the team
- To develop the skills to provide support in helping to respond to land charges searches and street naming and numbering.
- To liaise with network and industry colleagues and external professional bodies to develop and maintain knowledge of good practice within the planning and transport development management field.
- To develop the skills to ensure that allocated day to day correspondence and other communications are dealt with professionally, speedily, and effectively.

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**
- Under the Milestone Emerging Talent scheme, you will have the opportunity to study for your Transport Planning Degree which requires you to undertake a minimum of 6 hours off the job training/learning during your normal working week once your apprenticeship programme commences in September 2024
- The course is expected to take 5 years to complete and passes (Level C/4 and above) in maths and English and 3 A Levels (C and above) are essential for enrolling onto the course.

**What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**

As a Milestone Degree Apprentice you will be recruited on a permanent contract and after completing your apprenticeship you will be promoted into the business. You will also have further development opportunity through professional qualification or training courses.
