**Reports To**: Chief Officer

**Purpose of the Role**:
During the last 2 years we have recognised the need to have a dedicated impact officer who can support us to evaluate our work and help us and the wider system (SCAA) to makes sense of what we are seeing, hearing and doing. We anticipate that this role will build a portfolio of work to engage in policy activity and speak to the comparison with Changing Futures. You will take an active role in the cultural values survey which will include working collaboratively with the Cultural and transformation lead to design and deliver workshops across both areas and be active in the design of the second cultural values survey.

Whilst individual projects are responsible for their own data collection, the post holder will take a lead in improving data collection systems and practices across the organisation, including the work of the System Change Action Alliance protypes such as the impact from the cultural values survey. They will also bring together data collected into a coherent profile of impact and value to drive good practice and service improvement.

You will act as the impact expert for the team and seek opportunities for Encompass to improve the quality of research and impact activities. This will include building relationships with researchers and other organisations. They will champion a research culture within the organisation, in which staff, partners and our service users are empowered to create understanding and knowledge - to be curious, reflective and challenge each other respectfully.

**About Encompass Southwest**:
Encompass Southwest is a registered charity working across Northern Devon. The aim of our work is to provide trauma informed support to people with multiple complex needs around a variety of issues such as Homelessness, Rough Sleeping, Social Isolation, Domestic and sexual violence and money & debt advice.

**Key Duties**

1. Supporting Encompass projects and SCAA with Evaluation
- Provide data collection systems, analysis and dissemination support for Encompass projects & SCAA.
- Provide expert resource for research and evaluation methodologies, ethical considerations and monitor all research being conducted across the Encompass team & SCAA.
- Utilise action research and developmental evaluation methodologies to support the development of Encompass projects & SCAA.
- Facilitate spaces for the Encompass team to collectively reflect, learn and make sense of evidence.
- Collating and communicating collective impact
- Design, collect and collate information across Encompass projects.
- Produce the annual impact report for the organisation.
- Share Encompass’s impact in interesting and accessible ways, via events and social media.
- Build and manage relationships with research institutions/organisations.
- Seek opportunities for and support research placement students, interns and volunteers.
- Valuing qualitative, as well as quantitative data: working with our co-production group to understand their narrative and lived experience and the relationships between different elements of complex systems.
