**About the Company** We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, flexible, resourceful support worker with great people skills to join our small dynamic team at Sleapcross House, supported housing for adults with mental health issues.

**What does this Support Worker job involve?**:

- Assist with the assessment and implementation of individual Service User Support Plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well-being, dignity and treatment of all individuals
- Provides practical support and responsive support to service users who require assistance with day to day living skills ie. Budgeting, shopping, meal preparation, observation of medication, laundry, household chores, accessing local services, looking atemployment opportunities etc.
- Observes and monitors the well-being of service users ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/Care coordinator and documented as appropriate.
- Contribute to a team approach to service users' support in conjunction with all members of the mental health support team.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
- To assist in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products.
- Observe Medication as prescribed and well documented on a MAR sheet.
- To assist in the maintenance of the provision's cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times.
- Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with service users, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
- Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the service users.
- Ensure service users are gaining a quality service

**Am I the right person for this Support Worker job?**:

- Minimum of 9 month's experience within the health and social care sector preferable, but not essential. Training provided within the job.
- A passion for promoting independence and well-being with service users and fellow staff.
- An imaginative and innovative approach to support
- Experience and understanding of mental health issues
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Above all you need to be kind, caring, enthusiastic and ready to work as a team to ensure that our service is comfortable, happy, fulfilling and a safe place to live.
