**Responsibilities and Duties of the Job**

Ensure Service Users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing

To assist individuals with daily tasks, support them to improve the quality of their lives.

You may be required to work with children, the elderly and people with physical and learning disabilities based on your abilities and experience.

The work schedule may include weekends, evening shifts and round-the-clock care.

You may be required to work in private residences, care homes and communities. In some cases, you may need special training to work with specific kinds of patients.

Develop effective working relationships with other employees within Sunburst Care Services

Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for Service Users
- Assisting the patient with bathing, grooming and getting dressed
- Handling household tasks like grocery shopping and laundry
- Preparing and serving meals at the appropriate time
- Administering oral and topical medication under the supervision of medical personnel
- Providing mental and emotional support
- Making recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care
- Organising suitable recreational activities for the patient
- Collaborating with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible care

**Experience requirements**:
Must have one to two years of experience in care work.

Previous experience working in a home care, hospice, hospital for Adults and /or Children.

Familiarity with health and safety best practices, first aid, patient moving and handling and end of life care are also useful.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is necessary.
