Head of Financial Accounting

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the finance team to help shape our next chapter as we continue to grow as a team.
The Head of Financial Accounting is a key member of the finance and wider leadership team. This role acts as the lead for all aspects of financial accounting with responsibility for financial reporting and governance, technical accounting advice and leading the year end accounts process.
You will be a qualified CCAB / CIMA accountant (or Masters equivalent) with at least 5 years post qualification experience at a senior level, show evidence of leadership training and staff management, have excellent communication skills and display a passion for staff development.
Salary depends on experience and also has a competitive company matched pension via secure government NEST scheme.
- To lead and manage the Financial Accounting function to deliver a top-quality service.
- Develop and maintain effective reporting of group financial accounting information to Trust regulators, Derbyshire System and a range of internal stakeholders including the Trust's Director of Finance, Hospital Leadership Team, Finance and Performance Committee and Trust Board.
- Leadership and responsibility for the capital, financial systems, payroll, and financial services teams.
- Ensure that a robust financial governance framework exists and ensure tax compliance with HMRC.
- Provision of expert financial accounting and technical advice and support for complex business cases.
- Provide strong leadership to the team including staff management and development, ensuring that training needs are identified and met, that effective succession planning is introduced and that the staff are equipped to deliver high quality services.
