You will be required to control all movements within West Ealing LMD undertake Light Maintenance Repairs and preparation of rolling stock in accordance with local agreements. To ensure that rail vehicles are received from, and delivered to, the customer safely in an efficient, punctual, and economical manner. You will be responsible for the safety and workload of the Technicians and Contractors. Support the Heathrow Express Fleet, Support Maintenance Control and HEX Ops with technical advice/fault finding. Required to Support Paddington Station and Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
**Your main responsibilities will be**:
- Use of the train acceptance panel and train describer for the arrival and departure of all T&RS
- Carry out safety critical and non-safety critical tasks in accordance with controlled technical instructions
- In charge of GWR Maintenance Technicians and any contractors or visitors at the LMD.
- Create and maintain the necessary safe conditions for work activity.
- Prepping and dispatching T&RS off depot
- Maintenance Repairs to Class 387s.
- Communicating with the Signaller and Maintenance Control
- Fire Warden and First Aider.
- Work away from home location, as required.
- Technical Support for Maintenance Control and HEX Ops.
- Self-Covering Roster due to it being a small team.
- Occurrence Log and Sirenum Rosters inputs/updates.
**You'll need to be**:
- Pro-active and able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Able to plan your workload to meet tight constraints
- Flexible to work weekends, bank holidays.
- Live within one hour of west Ealing LMD.
- Technically minded and be able to think on your feet.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrate a good knowledge of Computer skills, including Excel & Word.
**As a minimum you'll need to have**:
- NVQ L3 or Equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Full Driving Licence
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern which will include weekends & nights.
- Knowledge of Class 387 T&RS.
**About the location?**
WELMD is a short walk from West Ealing Station via Manor Road, located to the west of West Ealing Station adjacent to the Plasser Works and the Engineering sidings. The depot consists of 2 sidings, which can accommodate 16 vehicles per siding.
**Working Pattern?**
A shift roster consisting of Days and Nights, giving around the clock 24hr coverage, including Weekends and Bank holidays.
