An exciting opportunity is available for a Data Support Officer to work with Manchester City Council on a full time, temporary basis.

**Contract**:Initially until 30/06/2023

**Location**:Manchester City Centre. Fully office based.

**Hours**:35 per week. 9-4:30 Monday to Friday

**Key Role Accountabilities**:

- Accurately monitor service delivery using management information to assess performance and outcomes
- Coordinate, organise and plan support activities to ensure work streams are delivered and meet the agreed objectives.
- Effectively manage the accuracy of data records on the local and government systems with exceptional eye for details
- Good knowledge and understanding of the rules that guide handling sensitive information including personal and financial data.

**Key Role Description**:

- The role holder will act as a key member of a team in the provision of data support.
- The role holder will provide high quality data support directly contributing to delivering a high quality service.
- The role holder will play a key role in the development, maintenance and monitoring of effective management information systems to meet the needs of the service.
- The role holder will effectively coordinate project work and lead on specific project work streams to support high quality service delivery.

- Problem Solving and Decision Making: Is able to make effective decisions on a day-to-day basis, taking ownership of decisions, demonstrating sound judgement in escalating issues where necessary; be logical in thinking and explain reasoning behind decisionsor actions taken.
- Strategic Thinking: Contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategy to shape future plans.
- ICT Skills: Skills to use ICT systems to obtain and analyse data and present it effectively through a variety of ICT channels.
- Administrative Skills: Good levels of literacy and numeracy skills to undertake calculations and produce letters and other documentation.
- Financial Management: Numeracy and accuracy skills to handle numbers confidently, collate information and keep accurate and reliable records to help with the monitoring and reviewing of financial resources.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to collate and present data in a meaningful way to support to support operational planning for a specific service area.
