**THE GIG**
This is a great opportunity for an experienced design specialist and brand custodian, to be the focal point of Dr. Martens design process and organisation. This role is key to the Dr. Martens brand, one that links all areas of the design and development process with our category specialists. Setting of the seasonal direction for the brand in alignment with the Creative Director is a core element of this role, with a focus on driving main range product and design evolution, that translates into our main range.
This role sits as part of the Global Product Leadership team, reporting to the Chief Product Officer and, will be responsible for leading the main line design organisation for both our footwear and our accessories lines. Setting and leading a strong strategy with people at the centre, this role will be responsible fostering and nurturing the design team to the next level and driving brand storytelling as well as commercial output of the main range.
As our Global Head of Product Designer you will be responsible for:
- Ownership of the main range Design process through the GTM strategy
- Setting the inline Design Strategy and Design ethos
- Working closely with the CPO and Creative Director to ensure on brand storytelling to inform our design process.
- Delivering against seasonal direction with powerful DM storytelling
- Building out the strategic direction of in-line design in line with the 5YP
- Building out the design ethos for each category, ensuring teams build into it on a seasonal basis
- Ownership of the cross-category Dr Martens design aesthetic, with a responsibility to build out a road map across all tiers of main range.
- Leadership of the seasonal design priorities to ensure the seasonal lines are executed against the top line plan
- Participating as a key leader on the Global Product Leadership team
- Facilitator of cross footwear and accessories integration across the seasonal collection
- Work closely with the Category Director and Senior Category leads to translate briefs into commercial design outputs.
- Gate Keeper of all critical brand design timelines in alignment with GTM team and Head of Development, as well key lead on PLM implementation
- Leading, developing and empowering a cross functional team with a key emphasis on learning, growth and development
- Work closely with the development function to build out a process to ensure seasonal collections deliver on time and are executed to the highest standard for the brand.
