- We’re looking for an Information Management Assistant to provide guidance, advice, support and to manage policies for the Authority to improve management, use and access to business data. The successful applicant will support to the Data Protection Officer (Authority Solicitor) to provide expertise and coordination of activities related to the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations, Data Protection and transparency) to ensure compliance.

- We work from our office base at Wayfaring House, Kendal however you’ll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network and work remotely. A hybrid approach to working can be arranged and you can also work from our other offices across the National Park.
- The role
- Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Advising and providing expertise for regulatory matters such as (but not limited to) the Freedom of Information Act, the Environmental Information Regulations, Subject Access Requests, and the UK GDPR. Responding to internal and external information requests, including coordinating responses with other teams and individuals where required and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Managing the Authority’s compliance with the GDPR by supporting the role of Data Protection Officer. This will include maintaining awareness of and expertise in developments related to records management and rights of access to information, including remaining up-to-date with legislations and standards relevant to the role.
- Maintain a policy framework to guide staff in the management of records, including the implementation and enforcement of retention and disposal schedules, implementation of labelling and retention policies within MS SharePoint, and support teams in their implementation.
- Manage and maintain the publications scheme to ensure that, when the organisation is required to publish information in compliance with Freedom of Information regulations, relevant, complete, and up-to-date information is published.
