Fixed term position for 12 months with potential for extension.

**Main Duties**

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the teams delivering the Council’s resettlement team. The postholder will be providing a client centred service that includes engagement, assessment, action planning, employability skills to support pathways into employment for refugees and Afghan citizens.
- To work in partnership with local statutory & voluntary sector agencies and businesses to co-ordinate and develop effective employment pathways

**Essential Requirements**

Knowledge
- Understanding of the needs of refugees
- Understanding of the barriers that unemployed people can face which prevent them from returning to the workplace

**Skills**:

- Ability to be positive, enthuse and motivate others to meet goals and targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an ability to work with a wide variety of people, such as residents, politicians, senior managers and operational staff
- Ability to demonstrate project management skills.

Experience
- Experience supporting clients into sustainable employment opportunities
- Experience of employer engagement
- Experience of case management

**Safeguarding of Children or Vulnerable Adults**

Canterbury City Council provides a wide range of services that have a significant impact on children aged 0 - 18 years and vulnerable adults. The council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults who are in contact with us through these services.

A DBS enhanced check required is required for this role.

A driving licence and your own transport is essential.

Interviews will be held on 31 August 2023.

Site maintenance is being carried out on 19 August 2023 between 00:00-12:00.
