Maintenance Assistant

AJN Steelstock Ltd are looking for a keen, hardworking individual to fulfill the role of a Maintenance Assistant on the night shift. The contract is 18-months fixed term to cover Maternity Leave, however there is a strong possibility of full time employment thereafter.

Hours: 21:00 - 07:30/40 hours per week/Monday - Thursday (with a paid break of 30 minutes and an unpaid break of 30 minutes) _**Approx two weeks training that will take place on the day shift**_

**Experience in industrial cleaning required.**

Duties include:

- Cleaning and basic maintenance of the shotblaster and painting machine on a daily basis
- Making sure all working areas are kept clean and tidy
- Ensuring toilets and welfare facilities are kept clean, tidy and sufficiently stocked
- Cleaning and housekeeping duties on production machinery and facilities
- Monitoring and maintaining coolant quality on production machines
- Assisting the maintenance team with other tasks when required
- Ensuring all waste bins are emptied on a daily basis
- Attending all training courses as and when required
- Following all safe systems of work at all times. Identifying and reporting any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaising with the HS&E department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary
- Actively engaging in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervening to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary
- Following the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformance's
- Following the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company’s objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months

**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year
