**Job Title: Health Care Assistant**

**Report to: Nurse/Registered Manager**

**Hours: Full or Part Time**

**Accountable to: Registered Manager**

**Main Function of the Job**:
To work as a trained multi-skilled member providing various aspects of care to residents/service users.

**Main Tasks**:
The Care Assistant may be required to work in any department of the Home as stated below:

- Personal Care:
Assist with all daily living activities, for example, washing, dressing, toileting/incontinence and assisting with mealtimes. Follow guidelines for safe movement of clients, using appropriate equipment where necessary.
- Kitchen:
All relevant kitchen related duties including basic meal preparation
- Laundry:
Washing, drying and ironing duties
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions
- Complete all paperwork accurately
- Communicate regularly with manager/nurse
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as laid down by the company
- Obtain NISCC registration before employment and maintain during employment
- Adhere to the NISCC codes of practice
- Adhere to all Health & Safety guidelines
- Ensure the confidentiality of residents, colleagues and the company at all times
- Work as part of a team
- Provide a quality service at all times

**PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT**

As part of the Appraisal process every employee is responsible for participating in identifying their own training and development need to meet those Performance Standards.

**Salary**: From £9.55 per hour

- 12 hour shift
- Night shift
