- **Role Overview**_

To always provide the highest standards of grounds and maintenance service while delivering excellent customer service.
- **Key Responsibilities**_

**Customer Service**
- To deliver the highest standards of customer service within the Village.
- To always provide the highest standards of grounds and maintenance.
- To maintain confidentiality of residents, families, staff.
- To provide support to individual residents in respect of ad hoc issues as they arise directing individuals to other appropriate agencies as appropriate.
- To foster and maintain good relationships with the Residents.

**Gardens, Grounds and Landscaping**
- To ensure that all open areas of the grounds, including grassed areas, beds, woodlands, boundary fences roadways, paths and paves areas are properly maintained to a high standard.
- Regularly inspect any garden structures, grounds with the Head Gardener to drive improvements.
- To report any faulty or damaged equipment or machinery to the Head Gardener.
- Liaise with local contractors as and when requested to by the Head Gardener ie Tree Surgeons, horticultural experts and landscapers.

**Property**
- To ensure the structure, fixtures, fittings, and equipment of the Village are properly maintained.
- To undertake on-call duties out of hours, on a rota basis, and respond as soon as possible to property emergencies.
- To report immediately any defects or faults which may compromise the safety of residents and staff, and without referral be responsible for treating roads and pathways with salt/grit when necessary, during winter months, when on-call.
- To undertake regular tests of alarm systems.
- As required to participate in a work rota which may on occasions include some unsocial hours or days.
- To report any faulty or damaged equipment or machinery to the Head Gardener.

**Health and Safety**
- Ensure safe storage of any chemicals.
- To use the correct products and equipment as instructed by the manufacturers.
- To ensure the provision of a safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors.
- To comply with all legislative requirements and local and Companywide policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety at Work.
- To ensure the adequate recording and reporting of Health and Safety at Work in line with Company policies and Procedures and with any statutory requirements.

- You will have experience of working within a grounds maintenance environment and understand the requirements to meet the demands of a cyclical maintenance schedule. The role will require good horticultural knowledge, including planting and maintenance techniques that will contribute to improving the desirability of our grounds.
- Experience of working in a role that includes undertaking physical tasks outdoors and operating a range of equipment and machinery.
- Good all-round plant and tree knowledge is essential including identification and maintenance requirements.
- PA1 and PA6 qualification would be an advantage.
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment and able to demonstrate excellent customer care including the ability to manage difficult situations.
