Gittisham Hill Park is a retirement village for the over 65s near Honiton in Devon and set in 12 acres of mature parkland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a really special location. There is a wide range of retirement property options including, one and two-bedroom homes set in the lovely grounds.

As a Minibus Driver/Maintenance at Retirement Villages Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our residents while maintaining the company's commitment to fostering a sense of community and wellbeing. Your primary responsibility will be to transport residents to various destinations, including medical appointments, social outings, and recreational activities. Additionally, you will also be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our community.

£12.00 per hour hours a week.

Responsibilities
  • Safely transport residents to and from various destinations using the company minibus
  • Assist residents with getting on and off the minibus, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times
  • Maintain an organized schedule to ensure timely arrivals and departures
  • Perform routine safety checks on the minibus, reporting any issues to management
  • Keep the interior of the minibus clean and free of debris
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks such as repairing fixtures, changing lightbulbs, and conducting minor repairs
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the community's grounds and common areas

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Previous experience as a driver, preferably within a healthcare or senior living environment
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents and staff
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs and conducting minor repairs
  • Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform manual labour as needed
