The Integrated Care Board is seeking a creative, analytical and socially astute market research/insights professional who can work with a dynamic NHS engagement team
The role will advise colleagues helping to shape the interaction between the NHS and key stakeholders and public. They will establish audience segments, conduct primary and secondary research and analysis the findings to understand the insight in order to help drive the improvement of NHS services. They will monitor and report on the impact of participation programmes and produce high quality robust Insights Reports showing the findings.
**The Insights and Research Officer will**:
Support the implementation of insights and experience methodology, systems and processes to enable the production of strong qualitative and quantitative insights and business intelligence that inform the development of marketing and communications plans.
Act as the system expert for data and insights, managing the delivery of new and innovative approaches to gathering insights and experience from people, particularly those who don’t naturally engage ensuring their feedback is always used to influence service changes and system transformation programmes and that the impact of their insights is always articulated back to them.
Coordinate the continued development of the Insights, Behaviour and Research Hub ensuring it identifies themes and trends and the information and learning it provides meets the needs of the ICB and ICS and supports decision making and service design.
Ensure that we capitalise on the fast-developing digital engagement world and investigate innovative digital engagement techniques and tools to improve our methods of gathering insights from people, communities and stakeholders including the management of Questionpro.
Highlight the strategic and tactical consequences of the analyses undertaken and present in ways that are understandable and engaging to stakeholders including to the Communications and Engagement Team, ICB teams and non-specialist audiences, up to board level.
Integrated Care Boards are at the heart of a new way of working for the NHS, bringing together providers of NHS services with local authorities and other local partners to plan, co-ordinate and arrange health services as part of what is to be known as an Integrated care System. They are part of a fundamental shift in the way the health and care system is organised - away from competition and organisational autonomy and towards collaboration, with health and care organisations working together to better integrate services, improve population health and reduce health inequalities.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
Planning & Organising
- Plan and manage stakeholder mapping to identify generally and for projects the optimum level of participation, interest and influence needed to ensure that we have high confidence levels that we are accurately reflecting the characteristics and socio-demographics of the population we are targeting.
- Plan collaborative working with teams and individuals internally to support the organisation and management of interaction with external communities and stakeholders.
- Plan the continued development of the Insights, Behaviour and Research Hub organising how insights from community and stakeholder groups will be captured, retrieved, catalogued and indexed and made accessible to the organisation to inform all decision making.
- Support the planning and organising of complex engagement projects to ensure that patient experiences and insights are gathered and market tested particularly from people who don’t naturally engage, the vulnerable and seldom heard. Use their feedback to design better care.
- Introduce creative research techniques which deliver rich and deep insights into the population of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
- Support the planning of the use of digital engagement techniques to improve our methods of gathering patient, carer, staff and stakeholder insights and experiences including the continued development of Questionpro and the Citizens’ Panel.
- Provide comprehensive reports to the relevant ICB committees (particularly the Quality and Safety Committee) and boards including patient experience and insights reports ensuring they are presenting a 3 dimensional aspect of care from the view of the patient, family carer and staff.
