Knowledge sharing and influencing
- Lead and direct the EDI planning process within Christie Education, using the education strategy as a basis for all activities
- Responsible for the delivery and development of the EDI action plan
- Collate, develop and share best practice tools and other materials to support the development and delivery of high quality learning informed by education theory
- Act as point of contact for departmental staff, signposting resources and events and providing day-to-day guidance, to include the delivery of action learning sets and informal supervision
- Liaise with the Christie Education stakeholders to share best practice and to ensure a consideration of opportunities around Diversity and Inclusion are appropriately considered within processes.
- Drive engagement internally and externally through various channels, including social media.
- Identify diversity and/or inclusion accreditation and lead work to meet the objectives required.

Educational impact
- Develop cultural competency of staff through training and informal learning
- Plan and organise events, workshops or webinars to foster knowledge exchange and peer learning on EDI, including national study days and events

Project planning, coordination, and reporting
- Report on all aspects of activities within the scope of this project, delivering sometimes complex and challenging information
- Translate changes of national and Trust policy into action planning

Accessibility
- Work alongside the Digital Learning Manager on ensuring accessibility guidelines are integral to learning developed
- Develop plans for implementing changes in practice in relation to accessibilty, including the development of support materials

Research, Quality and Governance
- Use data and other information to develop and deliver academically focussed research that impacts on learning at a local, national and international basis

Develop the evidence base on effective EDI interventions by designing innovative projects

Christie Education provides a wide variety of learning and higher education opportunities in cancer care, treatment and research. This includes developing learning and events which meet the highest expectations of our client group; nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, amongst others. Our team provides a significant output from face to face, hybrid and on-line learning - using the latest technologies. The team are focused on developing high quality learning opportunities which support the experience of cancer patients, wherever they may be.

JOB PURPOSE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and direct the EDI planning process within Christie Education, using the education strategy as a basis for all activities
- Responsible for the delivery and development of the EDI action plan
- Collate, develop and share best practice tools and other materials to support the development and delivery of high quality learning informed by education theory
- Based on identified needs, establish and manage the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Knowledge Hub, to support and showcase good practice
- Act as point of contact for departmental staff, signposting resources and events and providing day-to-day guidance, to include the delivery of action learning sets and informal supervision
- Liaise with the Christie Education stakeholders to share best practice and to ensure a consideration of opportunities around Diversity and Inclusion are appropriately considered within processes.
- Drive engagement internally and externally through various channels, including social media.
- Build relationships with organisations to ensure that learning is informed by the latest developments and research
- Identify diversity and/or inclusion accreditation and lead work to meet the objectives required.

Educational impact
- Develop cultural competency of staff through training and informal learning
- Plan and organise events, workshops or webinars to foster knowledge exchange and peer learning on EDI, including national study days and events
- Develop a forward plan of awareness-raising and engagement events through celebratory months such as Black History Month, LGBT History Month, Pride and Disability History Month or other topical issues.

Project planning, coordination, and reporting
- Report to the Executive Education Group on all aspects of activities within the scope of this project, delivering sometimes complex and challenging information
- Develop a detailed plan, timetable, and milestones for the EDI project
- Monitor, respond and give timely feedback on the activities, outputs, outcomes and impacts of the work of this project
- Translate changes of national and Trust policy into action planning

- Be the lead for EHIA across Christie Education
