**Job Title**:Head of SHE - Site Redevelopment Programme

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Leading our commitment to sustainability in Site Redevelopment, actively contributing to the achievement of our Net Carbon Zero by 2030 initiative.
- Overseeing all contractors SHE performance involved in constructing new site facilities and renovating existing areas, with a primary focus on ensuring safety and health throughout procurement, design, delivery, and performance phases
- Providing valuable SHE management information and, contributing to project consortium Principal Contractor (PC) and Client performance
- Managing and influencing senior internal stakeholders, actively shaping the site master plan, and ensuring a robust SHE strategy aligned with project goals
- Making autonomous decisions and demonstrating heightened organisational awareness, recognising when issues require escalation
- Lead a diverse team of contingent and core staff, influencing external stakeholders to prioritize SHE compliance in their teams
- Have significant influence that will shape safety recommendations for Site Redevelopment Project (SRP) budget holders, impacting the overall budgeting decisions

**Your skills and experiences**:

- Senior leadership experience within a major principal contractor or client-side role
- Proven track record of delivering results in large, complex construction projects
- In-depth knowledge of external best practices in major construction projects, with the ability to articulate and influence key stakeholders both internally and externally
- Understanding of how SHE integrates with the wider organisation and effective deployment of SHE strategy, systems, and policies within operations
- Experience in addressing environmental considerations in major infrastructure projects
- Level 5 NQF (National Qualifications Framework) qualification in a SHE field
- Professional certifications such as CMIOSH (Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment), or other related charterships

**The SHE team**:

In this position, your primary focus will be to bridge the gap between various departments, Principal Contractors, and key players within the supply chain. Your outward-looking approach will emphasize the importance of understanding and contributing to the transport infrastructure. Moreover, the role involves a significant commitment to the nuclear element, underlining the responsibility of serving and protecting the UK. This opportunity represents a unique and impactful contribution to a dynamic phase in the organization’s growth and to the critical infrastructure development in the country.
