You will also complete a Building Control Surveyor Level 6 qualification which will enhance your knowledge, skills and abilities and help you progress in your future career. The post holder will work in a busy multi-team office, with lots of support available. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, plus manage your own workload after a period of support and supervision.

**In this role you will**:

- Develop project management techniques including financial monitoring and to work with colleagues to support the project management of the delivery of capital schemes.
- Support and learn how to carry out a range of technical surveying tasks in support of the Education Assets & Operations Surveyor Team.
- Work with Surveyors to support the specification and delivery of building maintenance and capital works in schools.
- Support the administrative and governance processes in procuring works and to support colleagues in procuring works.
- Learn techniques and best practice in stakeholder engagement, working with colleagues to co-ordinate the requirements of schools, contractors, specialist consultants, local authority officers and other stakeholders to ensure effective deliver of projects.
- Actively participate in your own development plan under the supervision of your line manager and the training provider.
- Complete a Building Control Surveyor Level 6 qualification funded by the Council. This will involve attendance at a college and/or completing tasks in the workplace (depending on specific course requirement).
- Join a personal and professional development programme that will involve a series of varied development activities and events throughout your time with the Council.

**Training and Development**:
Within your role you will:

You will have networked across the Council and be aware of the internal job market during your time with us and we will provide support on your approach to the wider job market as part of your development programme.
- Be Hammersmith & Fulham resident or Care Leaver.
- Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years (part of the funding requirement).
- Not currently qualified in the Building Control Surveying Level 6 or above.
- Not currently undertaking any other formal form of study (e.g., college or university course).
- Able to meet the qualification requirements as stated on the above role profile including GCSE’s and/or A Levels.
