Infrastructure Team Leader

Overview of the role
To implement, manage and maintain the IT Infrastructure and associated systems to meet the needs of the business, working with other Team Managers to continuously improve the quality of service delivered to the business and the function of the overall department.
Main Responsibilities
- Line management responsibility for the infrastructure team, will provide coaching and develop the Infrastructure Analysts to reduce key man dependencies, further enhancing the teams’ capabilities to support existing & new technologies
- Responsible for the provision and on-going maintenance of all Infrastructure and associated software & licenses across the business
- Subject matter expert in the management & support of M365 tenancy, on-premise VMWare environment, Windows Server (2012-2019), Azure AD, SCCM & Intune, Veeam backup, HP Servers & storage, Azure hosting, SDWAN, Cisco, MS SQL, MYSQL, Oracle Solaris, End User & Retail Services inc POS & mobility
- Responsible for the resolution of root cause issues across all in-scope areas of the role, working within the ITIL service operations framework to ensure best practice is embedded and adhered too across the team
- Support the implementation and delivery of policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness are sought in line with industry best practice.
- Support the development of an Infrastructure & Network Roadmap to ensure services remain fit for the future
- Vendor management of key service partners
- Maintain operational relationships with key internal stakeholders and stakeholder groups to enhance and maximise the provision of solutions
- Work with the Service & Infrastructure Manager to identify skills gaps and provide training & documentation across all supporting teams to ensure the necessary personnel have the relevant knowledge to fulfil expected duties
- Work within budgetary constraints, challenging demand for spend internally, as well as ensuring the best possible costs are sought from 3rd parties
- Provide a high level of expertise, support, and advice to infrastructure users and to other areas of IT to ensure service and incidents are managed effectively and appropriately
- Support the recovery of major incidents for all relevant Infrastructure and associated services, both in and out of hours where applicable
- Maintain an on-call schedule for Infrastructure support where a Tier 1 system or service is impacted

- Delivering appropriate/compliant services across multiple business areas in a transforming environment
- Remote management of teams across multiple locations
- Complex internal infrastructure and business trading pattern demands, e.g. 24*7, seasonal, weather
- Resilient and pragmatic in their approach in order to influence all key stakeholders.
- Develops commercial recommendations and proposals within a broader strategy and regulated industry.
**Key knowledge and skills required**:
- Decision making skills and strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships across IT as well as People understanding and leadership skills to guide, develop and motivate other team member
- Analytical and problem-solving skills that yields understanding and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Strong personal responsibility supported by a positive, resilient approach to dealing with the demands of a customer facing operational role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills so can explain complex technical issues which can be understood
