Maintenance Operative for Pub/hotel

Located in the Beamish Valley conservation area, Red Row Estate is the beautiful 37 acre setting to The Black Horse Beamish, The Orchard Marquee and a diverse range of on site luxury accommodation including 19 guest bedrooms over 3 buildings.
The Black Horse Beamish is currently looking to recruit a full time maintenance operative/ handy person to be responsible for general maintenance of bar/restaurant/wedding/guest facilities based on site.
We are seeking a person who can perform a wide variety of repair and maintenance tasks. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and completion of general maintenance and decoration on site. These can include tasks such as minor electrical and plumbing fixes, joinery, painting and decorating, appliance repairs, and grounds maintenance.
You will also be responsible for working with external contractors for specialist works e.g. electrics, joinery, plumbing etc.
You will also be required to carry out periodic safety checks and hotel facility inspections. The role will require confidence and commitment along with maturity and ability to follow direction to work efficiently.
**Role and responsibilities**:
- Completion of general maintenance and repair tasks for buildings and facilities throughout red row estate.
- Conduct safety checks throughout the venue
- To have a full understanding of the hotels’ fire procedures to ensure safety of all staff and guests at all times.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience of providing repairs & maintenance services in a similar customer facing environment ideally within hospitality.
- Qualifications in electrical/plumbing skills (Part P minimum)
- Experience in kitchen appliance repair is advantageous
- A warm, friendly and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests.
The role involves working 40 hours per week on a Monday-Saturday rota.
