An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Hygiene Supervisor to join the team at our Uxbridge site.

We are looking for a well organised and motivational person ideally, with previous experience within food manufacturing, however full and comprehensive on the job training will be given so this is not essential.

**Main Duties**:

- To manage all aspects of the hygiene functions within your area. To be the point of contact for all related hygiene issues for the production, engineering and technical teams. To ensure control of labour within your area in relation to achieving goals and arranging holidays and covering absence.
- To assist in the maintenance and development of hygiene procedures to ensure that high internal and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- To audit all lines, associated machinery & food contact surfaces during inter-process cleaning on a daily basis and produce weekly documentation of audits.
- To manage and audit cleaning activities to ensure they are being cleaned and identified effectively in accordance with the current procedure.
- To maintain cleaning instructions for all machinery, equipment & areas in the high
- risk area relevant to daytime activities.
- To ensure all machinery, equipment and areas are cleaned in accordance with the cleaning instructions and to the required frequency.
- To manage and develop all members of the hygiene team through your auditing function.
- To ensure all members of the hygiene team have training relevant to the tasks they are carrying out and their position within the company hierarchy. To assist the Slicing manager in any preparatory work necessary in relation to staff appraisals and identify any areas of weakness & further training. To perform documented assessments of hygiene team in line with cleaning procedures in order to maintain training records.
- To check all chemical dosing points on a daily basis to ensure they are dosing at the correct percentage. To perform titration tests and monitor water temperatures of rack wash machines. To ensure that under no circumstances, chemicals are hand dosed.
- Manage internal chemical usage.
- To ensure that the high-risk area has sufficient cleaning chemicals and hand sanitizer at all times.
- To keep the High Risk Production areas are stocked with PPE and consumables.
- Maintaining an environment and culture of safe working practices understood and maintained within the High Risk hygiene department, encompassing compliance with company & statutory regulations, legislation & guidelines.
- Compliance in areas of hygiene risk.
- Implementation, maintenance and continual review to ensure compliance of written safe systems of works / methods of work / cleaning schedules, staff training records
- Maintaining effective hygiene management reporting systems
- Achievement of agreed KPI’s including:

- 0% red microbiological environmental results
- 0% red GMP hygiene related GMP scores
- Staff Absenteeism
- Compliance with Health and Safety
- Chemical / Water Usage
- Timely provision of hygiene services including weekend and overtime cover.
- Assist in Internal and External site audits/visits which meet and exceed the parameters as required by customers, the company and legal requirements with regard to hygiene standards, hygiene documentation and staff training.
- Critical hygiene control points throughout the department are routinely controlled, monitored, audited and challenged.
- Reduction in minor and major non-conformances across the department with regard to hygiene practices.
- Provision of timely, accurate hygiene information to management.
- Provision of an efficient, courteous, proactive Hygiene Team.
- Provision of a continuous improvement culture through the Hygiene Team.
- Setting rota's
- Planning weekly and monthly deep cleans for all departments.
- Stock control and purchasing cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Inspections and audits etc.
- Liaise with internal and external parties regarding processes and procedures.
- Training all operatives and ensuring the correct policies and procedures are followed.

**Requirements, Experience and Person Specification**:

- You must have a good understanding of food safety within production.
- Strong track record in leading and training hygiene teams.
- Experience in implementing and managing hygiene schedules.
- Authority on hygiene/GMP related CCP’s.
- Trained auditor and trainer would be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of products & processes to ensure hygiene/cleaning standards are appropriately applied. Application of cleaning & disinfection techniques.
- Good understanding of significance of pathogen controls and preventive measures.
- Ability to react to hygiene indicators/trends before a quality failure occurs.
- Effective communicator & trainer.
- Powers of persuasion and the ability to train and develop colleagues throughout the site is essential.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Be able to prioritise, manage deadline
