**Outline**

Royal Tay Yacht Club will soon be starting the catering service in its new clubhouse at West Ferry, in Broughty Ferry and we are seeking a team player with relevant experience to be part of a small professional catering team and who will lead the front of house team; the role will be part-time, initially 10-12 hours per week and principally at week-ends (Fri-Sun).

**Background**

The new RTYC clubhouse in Ogilvie Rd, Broughty Ferry, has a new commercial kitchen and we have appointed a caterer to provide a catering service to members and their guests. Initially regular dining service will comprise lunches on Fridays and a brunch or carvery on alternate Saturdays or Sundays, and this may be expanded if successful. In addition we expect to provide catering for specific events. We expect to cater for between 20 and 50 people per day once up and running. The kitchen will be producing a high standard of meals using mainly local produce and we need someone with the front of house experience and skills to complement that and help us be successful and grow the catering service.

Based at the new clubhouse and to take responsibility for all front of house catering aspects including:

- Taking bookings for meals and maintaining the diary of bookings
- Setting and clearing tables
- Meeting the diners, advising on menu choices, taking orders at table, serving the food, removing plates etc.
- Preparing bills and taking payment
- Help in the kitchen including washing and clean-up.
- To assist in training a small team *

*Our hope is to build a small team of part-time people for the front of house activity and so we expect that the experienced individual will assist with training. Our aim is to provide high standards of service for our members.

This is a good opportunity for someone with the relevant experience to be involved from the start-up of our catering service, to help shape how it is done and with the aim of making our new catering venture a success.

Part-time hours: 10-12 per week

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 3 years (preferred)
