A great opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeper at a popular holiday site in Leysdown. You would be working on-site with Office Manager and company Directors, ensuring that our financial records are accurately maintained.

**Your profile**:
You will be proficient in SAGE, Microsoft Excel and have attention to detail. You will be able to work autonomously, with small team, and have a practical approach to tasks.

The role is for part-time, for 10 hours a week with flexibility on hours/days. Due to the nature of the business, there are key busy times during the season where additional hours are required and for these additional pay will be made.

An attractive salary plus the option to join the Company pension and starting annual leave of 20 days plus Public and Bank holidays Pro rata.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Processing invoices, income and receipts. Including:

- Entering data into SAGE accounting software or databases
- Filing hard copies
- Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
- Tracking bank account balances
- Ensuring payroll tasks are completed as required
- Updating SAGE in a timely manner
- Ensure end of year returns are submitted to auditors within 2 months of end
- Prepare and present monthly budget updates to Directors alerting them to anything of concern
- Completing VAT returns and other mandatory returns
- Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Manager and Directors of errors
- Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies
- Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
- Helping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts within 2 months of year end including, responding to queries on accounts and any anomalies

**Experience**
- Proven experience as an Book keeper
- Familiarity with Nominal ledgers, Day Books, Journals
- Experience with office equipment (e.g. computers and printers)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to respond quickly to emerging issues
- Ability to build positive and effective relationships with stakeholders
- Effective team working

**Skills, knowledge and abilities**
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety practice
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Professional customer service attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good working understanding of GDPR, data security and privacy

**Qualifications - Desirable**
- SAGE - fully trained
- AAT / ICB Bookkeeping Level 2/3 or similar
