Full job description is attached along with the person specification The post holder will be responsible for the day to day Management of the Wheelchair Repair Service team Acting as a lead specialist in wheelchair repairs Supporting the recruitment and selection of new staff to the service. Ensure staff are trained and competent to build, undertake all repairs and maintenance on wheelchairs and accessories, in line with manufacturer instructions. Provide supervision and training as necessary for staff within Wheelchair Repair Service. Ensure sufficient staff are on duty to meet workload, monitoring and approving annual leave, sickness and other leave.

Oversee the on-call rota, ensuring sufficient staff are available between 9am and 9pm every day. Participate in annual appraisal process as necessary for staff within service. Operational Delivery Be responsible for the oversight and implementation of the wheelchair planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring the admin team are organising sufficient PPMs within the community to meet patient need. Spot check refurbished equipment and analyse the data to share with quality team.

Be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of Trust vehicles, ensuring staff responsible for those vehicles report any maintenance faults and that they are kept clean in line with Infection Prevention and Control guidance. Ensure staffing resource is sufficient to meet the needs of the service including repairs, planned maintenance, refurbishment. Seek support from Operational manager where necessary. Work with the Operational Manager on continuous service quality improvement
