This is a great job opportunity for a Community Housing Assistant (CHA) to join Home Group's awesome housing team in Durham, Teesside, and Sunderland. Our CHA is not just providing our customers with a home they’re building relationships with them before they become our customers and supporting them to sustain their tenancies. If you like variety, supporting customers, and want to develop a career in housing, then this is the perfect job for you

You’ll support with tasks such as managing our voids processes which includes liaising with local authorities.

**About you**
- Have a “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers
- Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business and external partners
- The cherry on the cake would be if you understand/experience of housing management, housing law, and universal credit too, but it's not a deal breaker
- Comfortable using technology to update records etc. with a keen eye for detail
- Like being part of a team
- Naturally empathetic, you build rapport quickly and have a sound understanding of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
- As this is a community-based job, you need to be able to drive, as well as have access to a vehicle that has been insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay your expenses to cover this use.

**About our team**

The Technical Housing Team is a new team in our region. The team will include our Operations Manager, Tracey who has worked for Home Group for 10 years, and a Senior Housing Manager too. So, you’ll feel like one big team building relationships with our colleagues. We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too.

This fabulous team is super passionate about allocations. They will be brilliant team players, supporting the region's Housing Managers with hard-to-let properties, and local lettings plans, and gaining extensive knowledge of our patches to effectively market and allocate our voids.

Our focus is to ensure we are compliance driven, managing our allocations process aligned to Home Groups policy/policy compliance notes to meet regulatory requirements.

**Where and when you’ll do your job**
- Flexibly working from home or from one of our local offices
- Working across 7 Local Authorities covering Teesside, Durham, and Sunderland, but you’ll have specific responsibility for the allocation of our rented properties in the region
- You’ll be proactive and accountable for managing your own diary which may include the occasional evening or weekend
- Can drive and have access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay your expenses to cover this use
- You’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. We pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
