This is an exciting opportunity to join Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) as Head of Strategy.

Digital Health and Care Wales is the national digital services delivery organisation for Wales. It leads the digital transformation of health and care across Wales, working closely with other NHS Wales organisations and other key stakeholders and partners. DHCW leads the delivery of major programmes including the National Data Resource, Digital Medicines Transformation, the NHS Wales App, and the Welsh Community Care Information System.

This will be an important role within the organisation, working alongside the Executive Director of Digital Strategy, senior leaders and teams across the organisation, and with external stakeholders. The role will shape the strategic direction of Digital Health and Care Wales. Working with partners, it will influence the future shape of data and digital across health and care in Wales.

To assist the Executive Director of Digital Strategy in ensuring that Digital Health and Care Wales has a good understanding of strategic context, a strong strategic narrative, and effective strategic implementation across the organisation and its delivery programmes.

You will be responsible for DHCW’s strategic horizon scanning and analysis, and will work closely with the Executive Director and senior leaders in DHCW to shape organisational strategy, for example by leading discussion around options and recommendations. Through this work you will develop an expert understanding of the needs and priorities of DHCW and other NHS Wales organisations, and of our digital service users. You will work with the Executive team to prioritise DHCW activities, so that we can develop and deliver world-leading digital services which improve the lives of people in Wales.

One of our organisational missions is to be a Trusted Partner. You will be a role model for collaborative working within DHCW, in the broader national context of NHS Wales, with Welsh Government, and with other stakeholders in Wales, UK and internationally.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
