**The Role**

- **To complete a two-year apprenticeship course in construction highways maintenance**:

- **To undertake highway specific training courses as appropriate to ensure compliance**:

- **Work as part of the highway maintenance operational team.**:

- **Learn and carry out a variety of tasks across highway maintenance; including but not limited to, carriageway and footway works.**:

- **Understand and follow work procedures to ensure own safety and safety of others**

**About You**

- **Functional Skills (Level 2 / GCSE) in English and Maths are NOT essential, but will be required prior to completion of the apprenticeship**:

- **Basic understanding of health and safety requirements**:

- **Ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public.**:

- **Understands and behaves safely and encourages others to behave safely.**:

- **Ability to work as part of a team**
