The post holder is required to provide clinical and psychological support to patients attending our dedicated oncology/haematology clinics in the outpatient department within the HODU.

This will involve direct support to patients and their families within scope of role, liaising with and referral to other departments and arranging additional test/investigations as directed, basic nursing skills and record keeping.

This post is being advertised as a Band 3, however applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2. Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.

**Rota**: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm

**Base Location**: Bournemouth Hospital

**Interview Date**: TBC

Welcome patients and their relatives to the oncology OPD and ensure that they have access to seating & are kept informed of any potential clinic delays with sensitivity.

Attend the clinics as required supporting the consultants/registrars and patients and make any necessary appointments or referrals as requested by the medical staff.

take and record clinical observations including blood sugars and MSU. Undertake any additional clinical skills training to benefit the department such as venesection, cannulation, ECGs, PICC line redressing and removal within Trust policy and competence framework.

Help in the preparation of patients for treatments or investigations including booking chemotherapy appointments, organise blood transfusions and bone marrow biopsies as required using the appropriate pathway. Ensuring all relevant documentation accompanies the patient in order to maintain their safety.

Ensure that the outpatient environment is clean and tidy, including the cleaning of equipment daily and restocking of nursing documentation stationary.

Ensure all documentation is recorded accurately, legibly signed and dated in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

To be able to use and access EPR, MOSAIQ, e-Camis in clinic environment
