**About The Role**:
Reporting to the Senior Project Accountant this role supports the finance department with the day-to-day administration of project cost claims and acts as a first response to queries.
The Project Finance team plays a crucial role in reporting on European Commission funded projects, as well as liaising and assisting project participants. GÉANT operates in a complex finance arena with many opportunities for ambiguity, this requires close and timely working between team members to ensure consistency and a correct-first-time work ethic. GÉANT, internally and the wider community, is culturally varied and requires adept and pro-active communication skills.
Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be based in the office, however after the initial learning period, there could be some flexibility with this on an ad-hoc basis depending on the needs of the business.
**About You**:
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ideally some experience in a similar role, acting as a first point of contact for queries. The position requires:
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel
A business or social science degree would be advantageous, and fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential. Given the dynamic nature of our business, you should thrive in fast-paced environments and remain composed under pressure.
**About Us**:
As an organisation at the heart of research and education networking, we offer talented individuals the opportunity to be part of something worthwhile. Thanks to our terabit network, 50 million researchers, scientists, academics and students can share record volumes of data unconstrained by location, solving some of humankind’s biggest challenges. Work at GÉANT and you will be supporting critical research into sustainable energy, deep space, high-energy physics, earth observation, environmental disasters, medicine and much more
You will also receive excellent benefits including a generous holiday allowance and a 5% end of year allowance as standard. The other benefits you receive will depend on the country you are employed in, but both include an appropriate pension scheme and medical insurance.
