**Job Purpose**
Provide administrative support to enable the delivery of the Widening Participation Summer School, Taster Week and Sutton Trust Summer School programmes. To support the preparation, organisation and smooth day-to-day running of these programmes.

**Main Duties**
1. Provide administrative support to the University WP&LLL team, arranging facilities on the university campus for in person delivery of the programmes. As appropriate, liaise with other WP&LLL, External Relations (ER) and wider University academic and support service staff to plan, implement and support the development of the programmes on the University of Glasgow (UofG) campus. Administer the running of activities on campus.
2. Respond to wide-ranging enquiries about the Summer Programmes from potential applicants, parents, teachers and staff in other educational establishments. Use knowledge of the programmes and admissions processes to provide accurate information to participants.
3. Prepare and disseminate promotional materials to schools and prospective applicants to support the recruitment of students to the Summer Programmes. Responsible for the preparation and distribution of packs / online information to schools. Assist the Summer School Coordinator with the promotion of the summer programmes, raising awareness of the aims and objectives of the programmes.
4. Provide administrative support to the Summer School Coordinator in enrolling students in the correct academic courses on the summer programmes and producing relevant timetables. Maintain database of participants and update accordingly. Create and maintain participants’ timetables and distribute to the students.
5. Liaise with other HEIs to facilitate positive destinations for Summer School students.
6. Liaise with other University Services to support arrangements for residential accommodation where appropriate. Responsible for liaising with a variety of external agencies to arrange travel for summer programme students to and from University campus, as appropriate.
7. Assist with timetabling and daily operation of the Taster Week, University Experience Week and Sutton Trust Summer School programmes.
9. As required, work with WP Research Associate and the WP&LLL team to conduct and disseminate evaluation and research associated with the programmes.
10. Responsible for own complex and changing workload, with the ability to work under mínimal supervision.
11. To carry out other appropriate tasks as designated by the Summer School Co-Ordinator. Provide support at Welcome Events and various campus events, attend school careers fairs and UCAS events to promote UofG to potential applicants.

**Essential**:

A1 Either: Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Sound understanding of the learning skills required for study in Higher Education (HE)
A3 Knowledge of the Scottish secondary school system

B1 Knowledge of University of Glasgow WP&LLL provision for potential applicants
B2 Understanding of University policy and procedure relating to the recruitment and employment of staff.
B3 Understanding of government regulations relating to working with young adults.
B4 Understanding of University policy on Equality and Diversity procedures and policies.
B5 Will have undergone an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check.

D3 Knowledge of UofG electronic systems, eg MyCampus, BI-Query

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1 Experience of working in the HE and widening participation sectors.
E2 Experience of working with learners in schools.
E3 Experience of working within a multiple-partner organisation / programme.

**Desirable**:

F1 Project Administration
F2 Relevant experience of administration in a related field.
