**Reward TUPE, Employment Framework & Trade Union Relations Team**

The team sit within CSHR Expert Services and support the evolution of the Civil Service Workforce through setting policy and strategy in the areas of reward, TUPE and workforce policy and manage the Civil Service trade union relationship at a national level. We advise and partner with departments as a centre of expertise, contributing to and implementing Government priorities through effective tailored workforce strategies and solutions.

**About the role**

The Reward Services and TUPE teams provide consultancy across government and they are established as a vital part of our HR model. The Principal Consultant delivers expert partnering to departments, professions and wider CSHR. In addition to ensuring the teams provide high quality services, this role also supports building reward capability across the Civil Service and oversees work to develop a long-term Reward Strategy for the Civil Service

The role also plays an important part for the corporate leadership of the wider Reward, TUPE, Employment Framework & Trade Union Relations team, as a key member of the senior management team and has a leadership role across Civil Service HR Expert Services as well.

**Key accountabilities include**:
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
Partner with the Deputy Director for the team to lead the expert services, ensuring they deliver the right support for departments and professions.

Leadership of teams for Reward Services and TUPE/COSoP across all CSHR locations, including direct management of 5 senior consultants.

Through strong engagement and by building relationships across government, steer multiple, highly varied reward projects to deliver expert strategic and innovative solutions.

Lead the collaborative working with departments to collectively develop the long-term approach to reward in the Civil Service, focussing on areas including coherence and capability-based pay.

Work with HR leadership plus the Government Chief People Officer (GCPO) on departmental and cross government reward strategies, to support individual and Civil Service wide business needs.

Play active role in the senior management team, to enhance CSHR, as part of strategic centre delivering for departments individually and collectively.

Support Deputy Director with business and financial planning of the service, and credible accounting to the customer departments that fund the service of value for money and performance against agreed work plan.

Further develop the Reward and TUPE services including customer experience, external networks and enhancing capability across the Civil Service.

Develop self and team to provide a continuous learning environment to increase reward expertise, including regular external networking in recognised reward forums.

**Essential**
- Understanding government priorities, the diverse nature of the Civil Service and wider policy constraints and how to translate these into the overall strategic direction of an organisation and its delivery.
- Leading complex projects and seeing them to implementation, including through providing technical advice to customers and stakeholders, where there may be little precedent in terms of the business requirement or context. Ideally this experience would be for reward-related
- Influencing, consulting and negotiating at an operational and strategic level with senior leaders to ensure strategies have a positive impact on business performance.
- Supporting individuals and teams to achieve high performance in the delivery of reward expertise, including improving own and others professional development through a variety of channels.
- Business planning and commercial management by the effective use of resources.
