Buyer

As Buyer, you will be involved in sourcing, negotiating and purchasing the required goods in accordance with budget & the required standards, quantities and lead time whilst establishing sound business relationships with reliable global suppliers.

You will:

- Process purchase requisitions in line with internal process.
- Identify purchasing needs per project requirement/budget to ensure delivery of goods/service to achieve value for money and excellence of standards.
- Source, negotiate & purchase quality products & materials as required.
- Support the team on managing supplier performance and compliance with agreed standards and escalate matters, as necessary.
- Ensure that procurement programmes for your allocated projects are managed in line with budget to achieve value for money and excellence of standard.
- Tracking consignments to assist with managing delivery times.
- Co-ordinating the necessary documentation.
- Ensure that links are maintained between contract documents for procurement packages to achieve the best strategic outcome for the project delivery.
- Build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Support the team with administrative tasks on managing supplier performance and compliance with agreed standards and escalate matters, as necessary.
- Maintain up to date documentation on our internal electronic document management system.

To succeed in this this role, you will need:

- Maths and English GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above.
- A minimum of 4 years previous experience within a similar role.
- Can do attitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent systems experience.
- Possess a proactive & innovative approach with the ability to problem solve issues.
