Buyer

**Permanent Buyer required for Portadown.**

**Duties will include**:

- Negotiating costs, ranges and supply in defined product areas as part of an overall Procurement Team to ensure appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
- Communicating and negotiating with a range of existing/new suppliers and manufacturers including building, developing and maintaining relationships
- Manage stock levels in line with customer forecasts
- Ensure that accurate records are maintained and are up to date
- Dealing with difficult or unexpected situations in a professional manner whilst ensuring resolution
- Working as part of a busy professional team to ensure that the company can offer an excellent customer service through the availability of the optimum product range.
- Building strong interbranch relationships with the MD & Senior Management Team.
- Conducting weekly meetings with internal sales department.
- Any other duties required of the role

**Essential Criteria**:

- Previous Buyer experience within a busy working environment.
- Proven ability to negotiate and communicate effectively to build lasting relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues.
- Ability to prioritise and organise workloads on your own initiative.
- IT proficient including Microsoft Office - Word/Excel/Outlook skills
- Ability to work well and flexibly with others
- Experience of both working within a team and individually
- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines

**Hours of work: 8.30 am - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday**

**Salary £32,000 - £35,000 DOE**
